SANTA ANA, CA, USA, November 28, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Press Release
Performance Update #4 (Performance Report) Major Texas Chemical Company using Cemtek-Unisearch Tunable Diode Laser Analyzer (TDL) to monitor real-time Hydrogen Cyanide (HCN)
Santa Ana, CA, – October 26th, 2018
Cemtek KVB-Enertec, a technology leader in Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) engineered, built, tested, installed and initiated a custom TDL Analyzer for monitoring highly dangerous Hydrogen Cyanide (HCN) gas at a major Chemical Company in Texas. The proven Cemtek/Unisearch Model 7000 Tunable Diode Laser (TDL) Monitor was coupled with a long path length white cell and configured to measure ppb levels of HCN. The specialty enclosure was engineered with safety purge & lock-outs designed for the safety of workers and the environment.
This design was first tested on site for an eight-month period and operated flawlessly during that time with no maintenance or breakdowns. This was in stark contrast to the sites’ existing Infra-red based analyzer system which required frequent troubleshooting & service; which posed a significant risk to workers that were required to repair and troubleshoot the Infra-red system. The accuracy was also constantly called into question. Cemtek then engineered & built a new system. The new Cemtek/Unisearch System has been in operation for four years, during this time it has 100% availability, required zero maintenance and has proven accuracy. The chemical plants technical staff said they have not had to touch Cemtek/Unisearch analyzer once in four years and that no other instrument they service has given such a high level of accuracy, performance & reliability.
The laser-based analyzer is a marked improvement on existing technologies used to measure HCN and other gasses in harsh or dangerous applications. The simplicity, accuracy, performance and unmatched reliability results in measurable cost savings for this customer and a short payback time.
Cemtek’s Model 7000 Laser Monitor is a continuous emission monitor designed to measure flue gases for both compliance and process monitoring in the most demanding of applications. The TDL utilizes a near infrared (NIR) Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectrometer System utilizing a single mode Distributed Feedback Laser (DFB Laser) for unsurpassed accuracy and performance. Since the spectral purity of the Laser is high and the selected absorption feature is unique, measurements can be made free of interferences from any other gas. The measurements are made in‐situ across the Stack (also known as Integrated Path or “IP”) in either a single or dual pass design depending upon the requirements of the application. A Windows-based Software package is available to display the data on either a host laptop PC or the client’s existing Data Acquisition system.
For more information on the Cemtek 7000 TDL monitor, please visit: http://www.cemteks.com
Cemtek KVB-Enertec is a division of Cemtek Group and provides a single source for cost effective engineering, gas monitoring, Data Acquisition systems (DAHS), CEMS design, integration and field services. All phases of Air Monitoring and reporting requirements are provided using our network of highly skilled Field Service Technicians, CEMS Specialists, Engineers and extensive CEMS design experience, measuring NO, NO2, NOX, SO2, CO, CO2, HCl, NH3, THC, H2S, HCN, Hg and many process gasses.

GateHouse Logistics Predicts Data Visibility Will Be Priority Demand of the Supply Chain in 2019

Jesper Bennike, CEO, GateHouse Logistics

Data Visibility

The year 2019 will see the supply chain become much smarter and more efficient by embracing the freight data visibility era

A gamut of new Industry 4.0 technologies that interact, communicate and create lakes of vital freight information is now entering the supply chain and these will bring about the smart supply chain”

— Jesper Bennike, CEO, GateHouse Logistics

NøRRESUNDBY, DENMARK, November 27, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Data unifier and aggregator GateHouse Logistics A/S today releases its annual outlook for the global supply chain industries. The firm sees 2019 as a fundamental transformational year for the logistics industry with freight data visibility and the continued building of ecosystems through industry partnerships becoming key priorities.

“The year 2019 will see the supply chain become much smarter and more efficient by embracing the freight data visibility era,” says Jesper Bennike, CEO GateHouse Logistics. “Increasing the flow of supply chain data through automation between shippers and carriers will become the norm and this will help shorten time to visibility.”

Supply chain data has remained in information silos for too long. When data is not shared, the supply chain cannot access critical business information and remains inefficient. The supply chain is not optimized.

“A gamut of new Industry 4.0 technologies that interact, communicate and create lakes of vital freight information is now entering the supply chain and these will be instrumental in bringing about the smart supply chain,” stresses Bennike.

True visibility

The year 2019 will see the logistics industry move towards higher quality visibility solutions that provide true and complete data. In the past, many shippers experienced bad data quality when they bought visibility solutions not based on an established carrier network. As a result, they could not optimize their businesses. The supply chain will become more selective in 2019.

Smart supply chain evolution

The evolution of the smart supply chain can be traced back to 2016 when freight customers began to demand real-time visibility for their orders and shipments. At that time, companies could not understand why they could not track valuable truckloads and get more accurate and reliable transit and ETA information for their shipments. But the industry has moved on and 2019 will see droves of shippers adopting smart tools for live data visibility of loads and their condition from the moment they are picked up to delivery.

All data types

The year 2019 will see the supply chain demanding more intelligent types of data. Its focus will not only be on obtaining position and temperature data but other types of data, such as tire pressure, door sensor weight and the like and will extend to analytics and predictive maintenance as well. Combining and analyzing telematics data in all kinds of ways will lead to new business models and new services.

Automation paves the way for the smart supply chain

Automating the onboarding process of new carriers onto data visibility systems enables transportation to enter the smart, real-time data visibility era and this trend will continue in 2019. GateHouse Logistics’ data visibility service ghTrack has speeded up the onboarding process threefold by using automated tools – a process which will become widespread in 2019.

Growing networks of partnerships and building ecosystems

The year 2019 will see data distribution companies grow their network of partnerships and have seamless interoperability. Data visibility platforms will begin to share data on decentralized ecosystems using blockchain technology. This will allow the collection and sharing of data per international regulations, such as GDPR in the correct legal way. Data in these ecosystems will be made available to agreed stakeholders (authorities, shippers, carriers, for example) on a need to know basis following agreed rules, format, and terms.

About GateHouse Logistics A/S

GateHouse Logistics is the brand owner of ghTrack®, a completely neutral and independent cloud-based data sharing service that is leading the way business-critical data is securely shared across the entire supply chain. It is also the perfect foundation for smart industries including IoT developments. ghTrack brings long-wanted, real-time end-to-end visibility to all stakeholders in the supply chain. It aggregates position and sensor data from all modes of transportation and presents them as one unified and logical data stream for simple integration into any business system. ghTrack is Europe’s most widely used, secure and GDPR compliant data sharing service. Immunitor signs agreement to initiate steps toward clinical development of oral tuberculosis (TB) vaccine in China

The potential upside of reaching this agreement to move toward clinical trial is enormous since one-tenth of all TB patients is in mainland China”

— Aldar Bourinbaiar

HONG KONG, HONG KONG, November 27, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Immunitor China Ltd. (Hong Kong) announces signing a service agreement with Kun Tuo Medical Research and Development (Beijing) Co., Ltd. – China-based subsidiary of global contract research organization (CRO) – IQVIA, formerly Quintiles. The signed agreement aims to provide registration regulatory consultation before starting clinical trial and ultimately the commercialization of the first-in-class therapeutic vaccine designed to treat tuberculosis. This landmark document is a preliminary step which will lead to filing a clinical trial application with the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA, formerly CFDA) – the China government regulatory organization, which approves and monitors clinical trials in mainland China and ultimately grants marketing authorization.

The signed agreement involves registration regulatory consultation on clinical development of V7 – oral tableted adjunct immunotherapy patented by Immunitor. V7 is an oral, tableted formulation of heat-killed Mycobacterium vaccae which has been developed and manufactured by Immunitor company since 2010. V7 has been through two Phase II clinical trials, followed by successful Phase III trial financed by Grand Challenges Canada grant. One daily pill of V7 can shorten TB treatment duration to as little as one month and enhance at the same time the efficacy and safety of standard TB drugs.

“The potential upside of reaching this agreement to move toward clinical trial is enormous since one-tenth of all TB patients is in mainland China”, said Dr. Aldar Bourinbaiar – Director of Immunitor China Ltd. – a company set up to address the unmet medical needs of the Asian market. “Our TB vaccine, V7, has been clinically validated starting eight years ago. In 2007, the WHO expert committee recommended M. vaccae for immunotherapy of TB suggesting that an oral version would be more desirable due to obvious advantages of such a formula. The injectable version of M. vaccae has been sold in China since 2001 as immunotherapy for TB by Anhui Longcom Biologic Pharmacy Co., Ltd. “Given familiarity with this product in China market, this will facilitate our effort of gaining approval for oral version of M. vaccae”, added Dr. Bourinbaiar.

Tuberculosis is the main cause of death from an infectious agent. This year at the UN high-level meeting on TB held on 26 September 2018, the WHO estimated that in 2017, 10 million people became sick with TB, with 558,000 cases of drug resistant TB, including MDR-TB. China has about 900,000 new TB cases every year and ranks second after India. Current TB drugs are not very effective, particularly against multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB) and TB with HIV, requiring 24-36 months of treatment rather than usual 6-9, and far more expensive – costing about 100-times more than those drugs required to treat simpler, drug-sensitive forms of TB. Affordable and faster-acting intervention such as V7 satisfies the unmet medical needs, especially that MDR-TB and TB/HIV are equally susceptible to one-month of V7 treatment.

About Immunitor
Immunitor China Ltd. is a commercial stage biopharmaceutical company registered in Hong Kong with a wholly-owned subsidiary in Beijing. Immunitor’s strength and leading position resides in its proprietary oral vaccines platform validated by multiple clinical trials conducted over the past 15 years. Immunitor markets several immunotherapy products addressing major health problems, i.e., in infectious diseases area: HIV, HBV, HCV, influenza, malaria, fungal and microbial infections including tuberculosis; in area of autoimmune and metabolic diseases: renal failure, thyroiditis, Alzheimer disease, hypertension, atherosclerosis, obesity and diabetes; and recently in oncology space. Immunitor anticipates that in the future approval to proceed with clinical trial to be sought by Kun Tuo from NMPA will clear path toward marketing the first oral TB immunotherapy in China as well as globally.

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA, UNITED STATES, November 24, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — In a rapidly evolving field with increasing regulatory oversight, companies dealing with personal or sensitive information should be mindful of their legal obligations with respect to data protection. While securing customer data and ensuring compliance with protection obligation is an obvious area of concern, another important aspect of data protection is having a contingency plan in place in case of an actual data breach. In a recently published article, attorney K. Todd Wallace reviews this situation.

A company’s obligations in case of a data breach are now regulated by law in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. Those laws effectively require companies to timely notify consumers of the breach. Furthermore, recent trend continues toward expansion of information covered by these data protection and strengthening of consumer protection.

A major development in the field of data protection is the newly enacted General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) in Europe. While a comprehensive discussion of GDPR is beyond the scope of this article, GDPR is one of the most expansive data protection laws in the world. With the passage of GDPR and increasing public concern over data protection, many U.S. states are now strengthening their own data protection laws. For example, data protection laws in California and Vermont are some of the most stringent in the country. Furthermore, multiple states have amended their data protection laws in 2018, mostly expanding the scope of protected information and clarifying or adding obligations in case of a breach.

These regulatory requirements regarding data breach highlight the need for companies to work diligently to create and maintain a data breach response plan. Companies should work with an experienced attorney in the field of data protection laws to ensure that they are ready and able to deploy a rapid response in accordance with all the applicable legal requirements should the need arise. Such planning is even more critical for multistate or international operations that may be subject to legal obligations in multiple jurisdictions.

Mr. Wallace notes that keeping the response plan up to date and educating management regarding the response plan are just as critical as creating one in the first place. Because this area of the law is undergoing such rapid changes across multiple jurisdictions, Mr. Wallace stresses the importance of ensuring that there are processes in place to regularly review and update the response plan. Any change in business operations may trigger the need for a review, such as expansion into new localities or addition of services or operations.
