Micromeritics

CoreSpec Alliance LLC and PoroTechnology Will Remain a Customer of Micromeritics

NORCROSS, GEORGIA, UNITED STATES, April 25, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — Micromeritics Instrument Corporation today announced it has sold its PoroTechnology Reservoir Evaluation Laboratory subsidiary to CoreSpec Alliance LLC. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

“The MICP testing of reservoir rocks was an attractive business for Micromeritics and we learned some very valuable information during the process,” said Micromeritics Preston Hendrix, President of Micromeritics. “It did not however, match with Micromeritics strategic direction for the future so we have decided to sell the business to CoreSpec Alliance, which has many years of experience in the oil/gas exploration business. CoreSpec Alliance, managed by Michael Santiago, has some aggressive growth plans and we are confident that they will be able to grow the business and better serve the customers in that industry.”

Poro-Labs Inc was founded by Michael Santiago in 2010 and joined NUTECH with the acquisition in 2012. Michael is a geologist who brings over twenty years of core analysis experience to the job and is a key player in the corrections of Mercury Injection Capillary Pressure (MICP) data in Tight Gas and Oil Shales (SPE 149432).
Since joining NUTECH, Mr. Santiago has played an integral role in adding complementary lab services (TOC, XRD, XRF) into NUTECH’s petrophysical workflow.

Prior to joining NUTECH, Mr. Santiago started his career with Core Lab’s petroleum service division then joined Knowledge Systems prior to being acquired by Halliburton. Mr. Santiago graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology.

Hendrix added that CoreSpec Alliance LLC and Porotechnology will remain a customer of Micromeritics since they will continue to operate the AutoPore instruments in the Houston-based laboratory and look forward to serving their needs and watching them grow in the coming months and years.

PoroTechnology was founded in 1995 by John Neasham Ph.D. to provide MICP analysis for exploratory analysis for conventional and unconventional reservoir evaluation. Today Porotech’s experienced team of analysts continue to provide the highest quality results for our customers. PoroTechnology was purchased in 2014 by Micromeritics Instrument Corp.

Cannabis Market in Global Imports, Exports, Production and Consumption Trends Industry Overview Report

Wiseguyreports.Com Adds “Cannabis -Market Demand, Growth, Opportunities and Analysis Of Top Key Player Forecast To 2026” To Its Research Database

PUNE, MAHARASHTRA, INDIA, April 25, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — Cannabis Industry

Description

Global Cannabis Market is accounted for $10.39 billion in 2017 and is expected to reach $154.82 billion by 2026 growing at a CAGR of 35.0% during the forecast period. Some of the key factors propelling the market growth are medicinal properties of cannabis, increasing legalization of cannabis and increasing advances in genetic development and intellectual property of cannabis. However, illegal product in various countries, higher stress on water and sustainable agriculture, strict regulations against usage of cannabis and strong competition with conventional treatment and traditional drugs is hampering the market growth.

Cannabis is a genus of flowering plants in the family Cannabaceae. The number of species within the genus is disputed. Three species may be recognized: Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica, and Cannabis ruderalis; C. ruderalis may be included within C. sativa; or all three may be treated as subspecies of a single species, C. sativa. The genus is widely accepted as being indigenous to and originating from Central Asia, with some researchers also including upper South Asia in its origin.

The plant is also known as hemp, although this term is often used to refer only to varieties of Cannabis cultivated for non-drug use. Cannabis has long been used for hemp fibre, for hemp oils, for medicinal purposes, and as a recreational drug. Industrial hemp products are made from cannabis plants selected to produce an abundance of fiber. To satisfy the UN Narcotics Convention, some cannabis strains have been bred to produce minimal levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the principal psychoactive constituent. Some strains have been selectively bred to produce a maximum of THC (a cannabinoid), the strength of which is enhanced by curing the flowers. Various compounds, including hashish and hash oil, are extracted from the plant.

Depending on the Crop Variety, Cannabis Indica segment is estimated to be the significant growing segment Cannabis indica, formally known as Cannabis sativa forma indica, is an annual plant in the Cannabaceae family. It is a putative species of the genus Cannabis. Whether it and Cannabis sativa are truly separate species is a matter of debate. Many uses come from Cannabis indica, such as extraction, cultivation, cloth from the fibers, medical uses, and a plant. Cannabis indica produces large amounts of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). The large amounts of THC makes it most commonly used as a drug, whether it be for recreational or medical purposes.

By geography, Peru provides potential growth opportunities to the forecast market. Peru was the most recent addition to the list of countries which have legalized the usage of Cannabis for medical purposes. Vermont was the latest addition to the list of US states where cannabis is legal for medicinal usage. Canada is expected to follow the steps of Uruguay and attain complete legalization of cannabis, so that it can be used for both medical, as well as recreational purpose. Countries, like Spain, Netherlands, and Italy are also expected to legalize the usage of cannabis for medical purposes, in the near future.

Some of the key players in cannabis market include Scotts Miracle-Gro Co, Canopy Growth Corp, GW Pharmaceuticals PLC, Aurora Cannabis Inc, Aphria Inc, MedReLeaf Corp,Sprott Inc, Insys Therapeutics Inc, CanniMed Therapeutics Inc and Cara Therapeutics Inc.

Wisconsin Ethanol Plants

STANLEY, WISCONSIN, USA, April 24, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — Whitefox Technologies Limited is proud to announce its fifth successful installation and start-up of its Whitefox ICE™ system at ACE Ethanol’s plant in Stanley, Wisconsin. One-third of all Wisconsin ethanol plants now have a Whitefox ICE™ system installed.

Whitefox’s membrane solution is a key part of a wider project that will integrate with D3MAX’s technology for taking corn kernel fiber-to-ethanol, enabling significant energy savings for the integrated facility.

Neal Kemmet, president and general manager at Ace Ethanol, LLC and Fox River Valley Ethanol LLC said, “After seeing the benefits of the Whitefox ICE™ membrane system at Fox River Valley Ethanol in Oshkosh, we were eager to replicate the energy reduction solution at ACE. Whitefox has demonstrated its ability to help our two plants reduce energy consumption and reduce loadings on our columns and mole sieves. We are also running a more stable production at the plant, which is an additional benefit we didn’t anticipate but is greatly appreciated by our folks in the control room. We are experiencing a positive impact on our energy consumption plus a reduction in our carbon emissions and cooling.”

Gillian Harrison, CEO of Whitefox said, “Working with Neal Kemmet and his team at both ACE Ethanol and Fox River Valley Ethanol has been really rewarding for us at Whitefox. We are excited to be part of a project bringing D3MAX’s technology to the industry. Energy and water efficiency are central to Whitefox’s purpose and we were pleased to see USDA’s recent report that projects that by 2022, with further improvement, US corn-based biofuels could reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 70% compared to gasoline. ACE is showing leadership by investing in new technologies to further improve the sustainability of US biofuels and we are proud to be part of such projects.”

Wisconsin is home to nine ethanol plants and is the ninth largest ethanol producing state in the country. It has the capability to produce 500 million gallons of ethanol per year.

About Ace Ethanol LLC:
Ace Ethanol LLC, is an ethanol production facility built by local investors in Stanley, Wisconsin. Each year the facility takes in more than 17 million bushels of corn, resulting in an output of approximately 50 million gallons of ethanol, 118,000 tons of DDGS, 8,000 tons of distillers corn oil, and 65,000 tons of carbon dioxide. The facility has a storage capacity of two million bushels on site.

About Whitefox Technologies Limited:
Established in 2000, Whitefox specializes in technology development and process integration based on its proprietary membrane solutions. Whitefox’s Integrated Cartridge Efficiency (Whitefox ICE™) is a membrane-based dehydration technology with a small footprint. Its efficient designs help reduce operation & maintenance costs by simplifying production and improve carbon intensity (CI) scores by reducing energy and water consumption in ethanol and organic chemical manufacturing processes.
