Convicted Felon Charged with Attempted Murder
Convicted felon Devonte Sherley, 29, is charged with attempted murder for the August 19 shooting of a man inside an apartment on N. Dupont Avenue.
Investigation by Specialized Investigations Division detectives identified Sherley as the man who entered the apartment and shot the 26-year-old man in the neck and knee. The victim sustained severe injuries and is now a quadriplegic. He was inside Sherley’s sister’s apartment with whom he had a relationship.
Sherley, who was convicted of aggravated robbery in 2019, is also charged with felon in possession of a firearm and gun possession during the commission of a violent felony. He remains jailed on $310,000 bond.
